RENTAL PERIOD:

- Rates are calculated on 24-hour periods (1 day).

- For additional hours, an extra day will be charged and is payable direct to Budget by the renter.

RATES:

- Rates are stated in Australian Dollars and are available at Budget Australia Tour Program Participating Locations.

LOCATIONS:
- These rates are valid at the following Airport locations:

Northern Territory: Alice Springs, Darwin.

North West Western Australia: Broome, Carnarvon, Learmonth, Karratha, Port Hedland, Kununurra, Newman, Paraburdoo. 

Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF): Included in Rate. Applicable to all Australian Rentals.
Administration Fee: Included in the rate and applies to all Australian rentals at a charge of approximately 3.5%. Also applies to any additional items not included in the rate which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental.
Goods & Services Tax (GST): Included in Rate. Tax rate is 10%. Also applies to any additional items not included in the rate which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental.
Premium Location Surcharge (PLS) / Concession Recovery Fee (CRF): Included in Rate. Fee may also apply to any additional items which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental. The fee varies between locations and may be calculated at up to 33%.
Loss Damage Waiver: Included in Rate. Please refer to the Coverage Options section of these Terms & Conditions for further information.

KILOMETRE ALLOWANCE:
Northern Territory: Unlimited kilometres.

North West Western Australia: Rates include 100 kilometres per day. Excess kilometres are charged at 27.5c per kilometre.

DRIVERS LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: 
- Budget Australia will rent to drivers that present a current drivers licence and have held that licence for 12 months.

- Budget Australia will not rent to any person on a Provisional or Probationary drivers licence.

- If foreign licence is in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by an International Drivers Permit (containing an English translation), issued in accordance with a United Nations Convention on road traffic. An international drivers permit is not a stand alone document and must be carried with the Renters valid domestic driving licence.

COVERAGE OPTIONS:
Loss Damage Waiver:

Loss Damage Waiver is the coverage (included in the rates) provided on the rental vehicle and Third Party Property, which is subject to the excess. Loss Damage Waiver is subject to terms and conditions detailed on the rental agreement.

Standard Accident Excess: 
When a Budget vehicle is involved in an accident the excess is applicable providing the vehicle is used in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the rental agreement and the laws of the state. Failure to adhere to the Terms and Conditions and laws of the state will result in the renter being responsible for all damage and costs associated with the vehicle.


Vehicles: ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, FVAR, CFAR, IFAR, FFAR:

Excess: AUD5,445.00 (includes GST)

Excess Reduction option purchased locally: AUD34.44 per day reduces excess to AUD838.00 (includes GST), or a nil excess option is available at the counter.


Vehicle: PFAR:

Excess: AUD5,760.00 (includes GST)

Excess Reduction option purchased locally: AUD36.73 per day reduces excess to AUD1,152.00 (includes GST), or a nil excess option is available at the counter.

Note: The renter must always pay to Budget the following costs and fees:


The cost of repairing any:&#8216;Overhead Damage or Underbody Damage&#8217; (including, without limitation, damage which occurs if you come into contact with including, but not limited to, a bridge, a tunnel, a tree or the roof or boom gate of a car park or damage, including but not limited to, the exhaust systems, suspension and chassis caused by carelessly driving over gutters or kerbs or driving along poor quality roads at excessive speeds) which damage is not attributable to Fair Wear and Tear.You driving the Vehicle in a manner that results in total or partial inundation or immersion of the Vehicle in water or exposure of the Vehicle to salt water (including, without limitation, damage which occurs as a result of You driving the Vehicle through floods, creeks or rivers); damage to the Vehicle caused by a breach of clause 3, 4.1, 5.1, 5.8 or 7.1 of the Budget Rental Terms and Conditions (save, in respect of clause 4.1(n), for minor infractions) by You; damage to a tyre or an Accessory not attributable to Fair Wear and Tear that is caused deliberately or recklessly by You; theft of the Vehicle, unless You report the Vehicle as stolen to the police immediately on becoming aware of the theft and provide full details of the theft and provide a copy of the police report to Budget as soon as you receive it; or loss or damage to Your property, the property of a member of Your immediate family or of a person related to You or a person residing at Your premises if that loss or damage is from a breach of these terms and conditions by You. if the vehicle is returned in an excessively poor condition (excluding Fair Wear and Tear) and/or if You or any other person has been smoking in the vehicle (in breach of clause 4.1 (i) of the Budget Rental Terms and Conditions); You may be required to pay the cost of any professional cleaning or odour extraction reasonably incurred by Budget and a reasonable administrative fee reflecting the cost of making arrangements for professional cleaning or odour extraction.For the purposes of paragraphs (a) to (g) above, any reference to You includes an Authorised Driver and any person You or the Authorised Driver allow to drive the Vehicle.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:
- ICAR, SCAR, CFAR Vehicles - minimum 21 years of age.

- FCAR, FVAR, IFAR, FFAR, PFAR- minimum 25 years of age.

- No maximum age applies.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS:
Budget Australia will provide one Additional Driver at no cost. Fees will apply to each individual additional driver (i.e. a third or fourth driver etc)

- AUD5.50 per day, per additional driver.

- Maximum charge AUD38.50 incl GST per additional driver (5 day max charge).

- It is essential that proof of a valid driver's licence is provided and that the additional driver signs the rental agreement.

ONE WAY RENTAL POLICY:

- All one way rentals are 'On Request' and subject to availability. 'On Request' means supply of the requested vehicle is subject to confirmation by Budget.

- All one way reservations must be submitted to Budget a minimum of 14 days prior to the start date of the rental.

- One way rental fees are payable in addition to the rental charges and are inclusive of GST. One way rental fees are payable direct to Budget at time of rental.

New South Wales (NSW), Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Victoria (VIC), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA)

One way rental fees are determined as per the table below, when renting between these States and Territories

Fees apply to rentals less than 72 hours (3 days x 24 hours) unless noted as an exception.

One Way Distance / One Way Rental Fee:

101-200 kilometres         - AUD55.00

201-400 kilometres         - AUD110.00

401-1000 kilometres       - AUD220.00

One Way Rentals Within Northern Territory
A minimum continuous rental duration of 4 days (4 days x 24 hours / 96 hours) is applicable for one way rentals commencing and returning within the Northern Territory, and a one way rental fee of AUD550.00 (incl GST) will always apply. One way rentals are provided 'On Request' and subject to availability.

Minimum rental period and one-way fee listed above does not apply to rentals between Darwin Airport and Darwin City.

One Way Rentals Within Western Australia
A minimum rental duration 5 days (5 x 24 hours / 120 hours) applies and a non waivable fee of AUD1,100 is applicable.

One way rentals are provided 'On Request' and subject to availability.


- All Learmonth Airport (LEA) rentals will incur a AUD77.00 surcharge for collection and drop off of vehicles. This charge is subject to change without prior notification.

One Way Rentals &#8211; Into / Out of Northern Territory & Western Australia
A minimum rental duration of 7 days (7 x 24 hours) applies and a non-waivable one way fee of AUD1,100.00 (including GST) is applicable unless noted as an exception. 

One Way Rentals are only permissible on the following vehicles IFAR, FFAR and PFAR. One way rentals are provided 'On Request' and subject to availability.


Rentals commencing from specified Airport and downtown locations in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia may be driven one way into the Northern Territory and Western Australia and vice versa &#8211; see below list of depots.

ONE WAY RENTAL POLICY - EXCEPTIONS:
Cairns / Port Douglas - No one-way fee applies when renting between these locations.

Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast - No one-way fee applies when renting between these locations.

Tasmania

One way rentals within Tasmania do not incur a one way fee.

One way rentals into or out of Tasmania are not permitted.

RESTRICTED DRIVING ROADS / AREAS:
The below detailed driving restrictions apply to rentals on Budget Tour Rates. Should the Budget vehicle be driven over the restricted roads / areas detailed below, or on the Rental Agreement, Budget coverage

options will be void. Vehicle hire is subject to satisfactory road and weather conditions at all times.

General
The vehicle must only be used on roads that are properly formed and constructed as sealed, metalled or gravel roads (Unless the road is for access to recognised accommodation grounds).

All vehicles, including vehicle groups IFAR & PFAR, cannot be driven on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or floodwaters.

Vehicles rented from Mainland Australia may not leave the Mainland and be taken to Tasmania or any other island unless authorised by Budget.

There are a number of roads in Northern Territory and Western Australia that are access roads to Aboriginal communities, driving is not permitted in these areas without an approved permit.

Queensland
Vehicles may not be driven on Highway No. 27 beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction.

Vehicles may not be driven on Highway No. 1 beyond Normanton in a southerly direction and no further north than Karumba.

Vehicles may not be driven beyond Cooktown to the north or Lakeland to the west.

Vehicles may not be driven on the coastal road north of Cape Tribulation.

Tasmania / Victoria / New South Wales / ACT

Vehicles may not be driven above the snow line in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria - being Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright in Victoria, from the beginning of June until end of September.

Vehicles rented in Tasmania may not be taken to the Mainland and vice versa.

In Tasmania, vehicles may not be taken to Bruny Island.

Western Australia
Vehicles may not be driven on the Kalumburu Rd, Tanami Rd, Canning Stock Route, Gunbarrel Hwy and Holland Track.

Vehicles may not be driven on the Broome-Cape Leveque Rd, Bungle Bungles, Karijini National Park and Windjana Gorge unless the vehicle is a four-wheel drive.

Vehicles may not be driven on the Gibb River Rd unless noted as an exception and the vehicle is a four-wheel drive.

South Australia

Vehicles may not be taken to Kangaroo Island from the mainland. Please refer to separate Kangaroo Island rates for the terms and conditions for rentals on Kangaroo Island.

Northern Territory

Vehicles may not be driven on the Gove Peninsula.

Vehicles may not be driven on the Jim Jim Falls Rd to Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls.

Vehicles may not be driven on The Mereenie Loop Road unless the vehicle is a four-wheel drive.

Driving through the Northern Territory and Western Australia - FCAR, IFAR and PFAR only.
Note that this does not apply to one way rentals that have been confirmed under the &#8220;One Way Rentals &#8211; Into / Out of Northern Territory and Western Australia&#8221; section of these terms and conditions.

When rented from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, FCAR, IFAR and PFAR can only be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia and vice versa during the dry season months April to November. Should assistance be required during this time it may not be possible. Should other vehicle categories be driven into the Northern Territory or Western Australia, or through the Northern Territory or Western Australia, coverage options will be void. It is essential that Budget are advised that rental commencement of the Budget vehicle will be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia so coverage options can apply. Standard coverage option restrictions will apply.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Budget reserves the right to amend all charges.

- Frequent Flyer / Traveller points are not applicable.

Miscellaneous Charges

- Vehicle Registration Fee, Administration Fee, Concession Recovery Fee or Premium Location Surcharge, One Way rental fees, kilometre charges, petrol deposit and tax are subject to change without prior notification.

Roadside Assistance
- Budget will provide 24 hour roadside assistance for all inherent mechanical faults (as reasonably determined by Budget or its authorised repairer) at no additional cost provided that the fault does not arise as a result of any unauthorised use of the vehicle in breach of clauses 3 or 4.1 of the Budget Rental Terms and Conditions (save in respect of clause 4.1(n), for minor infractions.

- For each roadside assistance call out for a fault or incident caused by The Renters act or omission (including but not limited to emergency refuelling up to an amount required to reach the nearest petrol station), a tyre-related incident (unless The Renter has purchased Windscreen and Tyre Protection), Electric Vehicle battery recharge, lost keys, keys locked in the vehicle, or a flat battery due to lights or other electrical equipment being left on, The Renter will be charged the Roadside Callout Fee, unless the Renter has purchased Roadside Assistance Cover.

- Roadside Assistance Cover does not apply if the Vehicle has been used in breach of Clause 3 or 4.1 of the Budget Rental Terms and Conditions (save in respect of course 4.1(n) for minor infractions) or in respect of any additional amounts payable under clauses 8.1 and 8.2.

Optional Charges
- Excess Reduction, Child Safety Seats, Portable GPS and any other additional products purchased at time of rental are subject to change without notification and are payable directly to Budget at the time of rental.

- Rates include GST but optional charges may also attract an Administration Fee and Concession Recovery Fee or Premium Location Surcharge.

- Child Infant Seats, Child Safety Seats or Child Booster Seats - Available on request (price includes GST): Daily AUD16.50 per day, or AUD88.00 per week to a maximum charge of AUD88.00 per rental. This is payable directly to Budget at time of rental.

- Roadside Assistance - available on request at a rate of AUD5.50 per day to a maximum charge of AUD110 per rental.

Tolls

- A number of motorways and city link roads in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are electronic tolls only and do not have toll booths. All renters must provide a credit or debit physical card to enable Budget's partner LINKT to directly charge the applicable service fee and toll fee to the renter&#8217;s card.

- For further advice please see an Avis Rental Sales Agent on collection of the vehicle.

Deposits
- All rentals are subject to a deposit at the time of vehicle collection to cover miscellaneous/optional charges, and may also have to cover the applicable vehicle coverage options excess and a AUD100.00 fuel bond. A credit or debit physical card is required. Budget A
