Arrive at Rottnest Island, start your journey on the Gabbi Karniny Bidi " Discover the Salt Lakes" with some of the best views on the Island. From Vlamingh Lookout you’ll gain real perspective of what you’ll find beyond the Settlement. Then head on to Lake Baghdad where you can stop to watch the birds dancing on the Salt Lakes. These lakes have been recognised as Wetlands of National Importance. Head onto the Lakes Boardwalk to experience the illusion of walking on water. The boardwalk safeguards the significant samphire communities below. Detour up to the Wadjemup Lighthouse where you will stop for a light refreshment and a moment to enjoy the beautiful view from the highest point on the island, before returning to the trail and heading to the Northern beaches. As the day warms up, you get to cool down as you head onto Little Parakeet Bay. Kick off your shoes and paddle in the calm waters of Little Parakeet Bay in the beautiful clear turquoise waters and then head onto Geordie Bay, Longreach Bay and to The Basin, one of the Island’s most popular swimming spots. Finish the hiking tour back at the main settlement, where you will have a beautiful spot reserved for you to enjoy lunch the way you want to before experiencing Rottnest in your unique style for the afternoon.
