What to bring:
- Comfortable clothing that will not restrict active participation in inflating the balloon or climbing in and out of the basket should be worn. It is an active morning in the outdoors, so wear clothes that can get stained or dirty. Please note: Global Ballooning will not be responsible for clothing that is stained or damaged as a part of this adventure activity.
- Wear clothes as for hiking, including sturdy shoes, warm socks and a cap, sunglasses. Make sure you have pockets with zips so you can keep items safe.
- High-heeled shoes, thongs/flip flops and open-toe shoes are NOT suitable. - Feet can get wet and cold in the early morning dew, so perhaps bring a change of socks.
- Do not bring any bags as these will not be allowed on the balloon. You can leave them in the ground crew vehicle whilst on your flight or leave them at home/in your hotel.
- Depending on the time of year and weather, it can be extremely cold.
- Generally it will not be any colder in the air during the flight than on the ground, so wear layered clothing that can be removed as the day warms up.
- The burners can radiate heat so a hat is recommended.
- Cameras are welcome but are carried at your own risk.

Global Ballooning's team will meet you at Balgownie Estate. The exact time is given the evening before your flight by downloading the Global Ballooning (safe travels) mobile APP and looking at the update for your specific flight date. You'll get transferred to the launch site. After a short briefing by your pilot, you may help prepare for the launch or stand back and take some fabulous photos while the balloon is being set up ready for flying. Audience participation is recommended but not compulsory. Then away you go! Spend a peaceful hour drifting gently over the Yarra Valley at sunrise by hot air balloon. After landing, the balloon will need to be packed up and again audience participation is recommended but is not compulsory. Global Ballooning will transfer passengers back to Balgownie Estate where they can depart at their leisure.

Please provide Guest individual weights, contact phone number and email. If your mobile and email isn’t updated, you may risk missing your flight. Passengers MUST reconfirm the tour 7 days prior to their balloon flight by emailing Global Ballooning Australia on balloon@globalballooning.com.au with your booking reference number. 1 week before their flight, passengers MUST also download the Global Ballooning Australia (Safe Travels) mobile app for the updated weather and pickup/meeting information. The app will be updated between 5-6pm the NIGHT BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT.

Important:
- Hot air ballooning is a weather dependent activity which means the flight is not guaranteed to proceed every day unless it is safe to do so. Guests MUST download the Global Ballooning Safe Travels mobile app 1 week prior to their flight – at 6pm the night before everyone will receive the below information:
- If the flight is proceeding
- The exact meeting time. Failure to do so may result in miscommunication and failure to fly, forfeiting a booking altogether.
There is an urgent chat function for queries on the app and this is the only way to reach the Global Ballooning team after-hours.
If you are unable to download the app, please call or email balloon@globalballooning.com.au so our team can ensure your mobile and email is accurate – you will then receive your flight status and timing via sms/email. The office is open 9am to 5pm between Monday to Friday.
When the mobile app has been downloaded guests will be able to access this information by entering their GLOBAL BALLOONING Booking ID found on their documentation, this is the only way they will receive flight updates.

Please make sure notifications are switched ON in phone settings so updated can be received. Notification by 6pm the night prior will be sent.
Please provide up-to-date mobile contact phone numbers - if a guest changes an international number to an Australian Mobile number after booking a flight Global Ballooning Australia Pty Ltd MUST be informed. This can also be updated through the Global Ballooning APP if communications are required at late notice.
