Nuriootpa

One of the larger towns in the wine font of the Barossa Valley, Nuriootpa sits on the banks of the Para - the river which gives its name to the famous liqueur port Seppelt has been producing for generations. Dominated by the family mausoleum which crowns a hill like some Doric temple, the Seppelt's winery with its signature avenue of palms nearby Seppeltsfield is an absolute must on any tour of the local tasting rooms of Elderton, Kaesler, Penfolds, Stockwell and Wolf Blass. If you find yourself wined-out, Nuriootpa offers a choice of tranquil riverside parks for a spot of relaxation. Indeed, the Nurioopta Linear Park presents a delightfully scenic, riverside walk from Coulthard Reserve in Pentrice Road to Tolley Reserve on the Barossa Valley Way. Tolley Reserve is the perfect spot to take their weight off and settle down for a picnic or barbecue lunch.
