Strathfieldsaye

Just eight kilometres out of Bendigo, Strathfieldsaye enjoys both the tranquillity of village life and the benefits of being close to a large provincial city.

Strathfieldsaye is set in the south-eastern sector of the Bendigo urban area and is home to the Longlea State Forest and Sweenies Creek Pottery whose signature craft is distinguished by a technique of low relief decoration featuring Australian bushland scenes.

The suburb is also within comfortable driving distance of the stylish Rupertswood Country Home which is graced by a 2ha 'kitchen' and rose gardens and decorative lake which, in turn, are set in 6ha of bushland.

A slightly longer drive south takes you to Sedgwick Camel Farm where adventurers have the choice of half-hour, sunset or overnight treks.

The charms of the Golden City are just a few minutes drive from Strathfieldsaye, while the popular swimming and fishing haunt, Lake Eppalock, which spreads over 3000ha and is dotted with a number of islands, lies just to the south-east.
