Wamberal

While the Central Coast beachside town of Wamberal, about 90-minutes drive north of Sydney, is justifiably highly-regarded for its terrific beach and safe-swimming lagoons, many visitors miss out on the other natural delights which await in the nearby parks, forests and reserves. For example, to the north of Wamberal is the Wyrrabalong National Park which features within its boundaries two scenic and forest-clad sections of coastline and conserves the last significant littoral rainforest on the central coast. The southern part of the park has high headlands, lookouts, cliffs and rock platforms, while the sandy, northern section protects red gum forest and rainforests. Well-signposted walking tracks take visitors into spectacular areas which are at their best in spring when the wildflowers bloom. To the south of Wamberal is the lovely Bouddi National Park and the Kincumba Mountain Reserve and the Katandra Reserve add a natural dimension to the hinterland.
