Seventeen Seventy Accommodation, Hotels, Tours & Information
Seventeen Seventy
Seventeen Seventy is a small and tranquil coastal town less than 2 hours south-east of Gladstone in Queensland.
The biggest attractions for holiday makers are the pleasant beaches, great fishing and places to explore. Peak holiday times are Easter and Christmas.
The town name Seventeen Seventy is named after the year that Captain James Cook of the Endeavour and his crew, landed on the shore here. According to his diaries, no Aboriginal peoples were seen but there was evidence of their existence with campfires and artifacts.
Information on things to do in the area can be found at the Discovery Centre in Endeavour Plaza.
