Brunswick Junction

A railway junction town about 24km north of Bunbury, Brunswick Junction is just a short drive from some of the best beaches and fishing spots in the south-west of WA.

From here it's just 13km west to the fishing village of Australind on the shores of Leschenault Inlet, which is renowned for its manna crabs and prawning.

Fishing in the inlet, in the estuary near Bunbury, and in the Collie River - for flathead, silver bream, kingfish, herring and whiting, especially - is a favourite local pastime.

Boating and sailing on the inlet, in the estuary and river, and out to sea, is popular, too.

The big regional capital of Bunbury has some fine beaches and the fabulous Dolphin Discovery Centre is well worth a visit.

At Koombona Beach near the mouth of the harbour is one of the few places in the world where you can get up close to the dolphins that come swimming in most mornings for a bit of friendly interaction with humans.
