Thredbo Village
Thredbo Village in Kosciuszko National Park is one of Australia"s highest alpine towns. In the winter, Thredbo is a popular skiing and snowboarding resort. It boasts the most extensive snowmaking system in the Southern Hemisphere, for those occasions when the weather won"t quite come to the party. Snow activities include skiing and snowboarding (of course!), snow shoeing, cross country skiing and night skiing.
In summer, Thredbo has a range of outdoor activities for visitors, including walking, mountain bike trails, fishing, horse riding, climbing, abseiling and whitewater rafting. Or for a taste of what it"s like in the winter, try the scenic chairlift or the bobsled run.
Thredbo also hosts two music festivals each year - one for blues lovers and the other for jazz aficionados.
