Yarrangobilly Caves
Yarrangobilly Caves Yarrangobilly Caves are a string of caves in a limestone belt, approximately 1.5 kilometres wide and 14 kilometres long. The limestone was formed about 440 million years ago from the shells and skeletons of sea animals, before the whole area was uplifted 1,200 metres above sea level about 40 million years ago.

Yarrangobilly Caves: Where To Go / Sightseeing
People have been visiting the caves for over 100 years to see the curious limestone formations and, today, six caves are open for inspection - North Glory Cave, Glory Hole Cave for self-guided tours, Jillabenan Cave and Jersey Cave for guided tours and the Castle and Harrie Wood caves by appointment.
Yarrangobilly Caves: Travel Tips
Yarrangobilly Caves are located within Kosciuszko National Park on the Snowy Mountains Highway, 77 km south of Tumut, 102 km north of Cooma and 105 km northeast of Khancoban via the Cabramurra Road.
Large picnic areas and gas and wood fired barbeque facilities are available. No kiosk available, bring your own food and fuel.
