Leopold

Out on the Bellarine Peninsula, 11 km east of Geelong, Leopold has Port Phillip Bay to its north and Lake Connewarre and Bass Strait to its south, making it a haven for lovers of watersports.

Just up the road is the fishing town of Queenscliff, in operation since the 1850s and still harbouring a large fishing fleet, which guards the treacherous entrance to Port Phillip Bay.

From its central point on the peninsula, Leopold is within half an hour or less of Bellarine"s tourist attractions. Geelong, just a few kilometres to the west, is Victoria's largest provincial city and a major wool-selling centre where you'll find the National Wool Centre and Museum. And what they don't know about wool here isn't worth knowing!

Wool and woollens apart, Geelong is a delightful, bayside city which combines a relaxed lifestyle with sophisticated wining and dining.

The Port Phillip resort village of Clifton Springs, once a popular target of steamer loads of Melbourne passengers intent on taking the local spa water, lies just to the east, while just short drive to the south lie Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Torquay at the eastern gateway to the Great Ocean Road.
