Halls Head

Halls Head is the name of the area that dominates the southern shoreline of the Peel Inlet estuary, with Mandurah on the northern side, about 74km south of Perth.

This popular holiday spot is a great aquatic playground and a wonderful fishing destination, situated as it is at the confluence of three rivers - the Murray, Serpentine and Harvey.

The broad reaches of the Peel Inlet attract crab and prawn gatherers as well as more traditional fisherfolk. The beaches are among WA's best and the bushland delights of the Darling Range are close by.

But one of the great attractions of Mandurah is the opportunity to go swimming with wild blue-nosed dolphins. A local operator has an exemption from the act which prohibits swimming with these wonderful creatures in WA waters.

So, if you can get down Mandurah way between late October and June, you can indulge yourself in a truly rare and unforgettable experience.
