Loch

Loch Village was established in South Gippsland in 1876 and is a small township with a rural charm. It has much to offer the visitor.

The original buildings and colourful cottage gardens add interest to a leisurely village stroll and are a fitting backdrop to the antique and craft shops, bric-a-brac stores and galleries.

Local attractions include the Weemala Alpacas and Exotic Animals Farm, heritage walks and wineries. Market days are held on every second Sunday from November to March.

Loch is a good starting point for scenic drives through the hills to the coast and Phillip Island. Loch is located on the South Gippsland Highway which offers direct access to the rugged grandeur of Wilsons Promontory National Park and the beautiful lake and coastal parks of Gippsland.

A short highway drive takes you to Korumburra, black coal capital of Gippsland. But not all that lurks beneath the ground is black. Korumburra is home to the world's largest earthworm which grows to a length of more than three metres and is the star of the Karmai Giant Worm Festival held in March.
