Here is beautiful beef cattle and dairy country down by the sea in the far south of Victoria. Agnes Falls, where the river tumbles 60 metres into a gorge, are among Victoria's highest and is just 10 minutes away by car. The splendour of Wilson's Promontory is 40 minutes away, and it's about half an hour to the Turra-Bulga National Park. The regional scenery is unsurpassed, but it can get very breezy, and that undoubtedly explains why they're proposing a wind farm for the area. It is an area blessed with some of the best bushwalking country in Australia and Wilson's Promontory National Park is outstanding. Fondly known as The Prom, the park is the best known and most used in the Gippsland area. It truly does have something for everyone and newcomers are advised to make a bee-line for the information centre at Tidal River which is graced with camping and caravan sites. The centre offers leaflets and maps to guide visitors through the 80km of walking tracks.
