Rosny Park

With direct access to the Tasman Bridge, Rosny is at the heart of Hobart, Australia's second oldest state capital, rich in history.

Hobart, of course, is also the perfect base from which to explore Tasmania. The island state's great attractions, such as Port Arthur - the most recognisable symbol of Australian 19th century convict system and penal colony origins - and the wilderness wonderlands of lakes Gordon and Pedder are within a day's return from Hobart.

Flights over the magnificent South-East Wilderness are available from Cambridge Airport, which is just a 10-min drive from Rosny Park.

A suburb in the municipality of Clarence, Rosny Park is set on the eastern shore of the Derwent, alongside historic Bellerive, which, as Kangaroo Point, was linked to the heart of Hobart from earliest settlement by ferry.

It is perhaps best known these days as the home of the Bellerive Oval, Tasmania"s principal test cricket arena. The Kangaroo Bluff Battery, an old fort guarding the river, retains the area"s links with the past.
