Brisbane East
To the east is Moreton Bay, Brisbane's own aquatic playground and marine sanctuary. Just a short boat trip across the bay is Moreton Island, one of the world’s largest sand islands and almost completely national park. The island is a
favourite destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Hand feeding wild dolphins, snorkelling, scuba diving, quad biking and sand tobogganing down the world’s tallest stabilised sand dune are just some of
the island’s appeal.
North Stradbroke Island is a beach holiday hotspot, offering an enticing blend of rugged coastal landscapes, tranquil inland lakes and pristine unspoilt beaches ideal for swimming, surfing, sailing, sea kayaking, fishing and diving year round. The island is the ultimate in unspoilt nature and the perfect destination for a four wheel drive adventure.

Brisbane East: Travel Tips
Weather Guide
Brisbane temperature average:
Summer 21ºC to 30ºC
Autumn 15ºC to 28ºC
Winter 11ºC to 22ºC
Spring 14ºC to 26ºC
What to Bring
Most Queenslanders dress informally, although reasonable dress standards are maintained in restaurants, hotels and bars. Lightweight clothing is suitable all year round, however bring something warm to slip on, as the temperature drops at night during winter. To ensure adequate protection from the sun we suggest you bring a broad-brimmed hat, SPF 30+ sunscreen, sunglasses and a long sleeved shirt with a collar.
Beach Safety
Queensland has some of the world’s best beaches, however care and caution should be exercised at all times. Please remember to swim between the red and yellow flags and listen to instructions from lifesavers and lifeguards.
