Balgowlah Heights

Perched on the hill overlooking Manly, Balgowlah Heights enjoys cooling summer breezes and magnificent views of the harbour, Sydney's northern beaches and Manly Cove.

The large stretch of the Sydney Harbour National Park between Reef Beach and Clontarf borders the suburb, while North Head and its commanding views over the entrance to Sydney Harbour are just a few minutes away by car.

It's downhill all the way to Manly, with its ocean beaches and the protected waters of Manly Cove. Manly boasts an array of restaurants where you can browse on the finest food and wine while overlooking the Pacific.

To the north, the rest of the Manly Warringah Peninsula's pleasures await - challenging golf courses, more stunning surf beaches, lagoon-side parks, and the sailing and fishing playground of Pittwater.

Traffic on the main road linking Sydney with Balgowlah and Manly is halted occasionally by the opening of a manually operated, centre section of the charming old Spit Bridge that spans a narrow neck of Middle Harbour. The bridge is opened at set times during the day to allow tall-masted yachts to sail to and from Sydney Harbour.
