Cheltenham

The leafy, elegant north-western Sydney suburb of Cheltenham borders one of the region's largest recreational and passive reserves, which embraces Pennant Hills Park and the Lane Cove River State Recreation Reserve.

The green belt includes netball, basketball and tennis courts, bowling clubs, hockey, soccer and rugby fields, cricket ovals, an archery range, a permanent Scouts facility and an area set aside for model aircraft flights.

Major roads and a rail line link Cheltenham with Parramatta, Hornsby and Ryde shopping centres and the Macquarie University campus.

The Upper North Shore greenery shared by Cheltenham also include a number of fine golf courses including Avondale and a very popular public course at North Turramurra.

This public golf course stands at the southern gateway to the huge Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park which conserves 15,000ha of open rainforest, eucalypt forest, scrub and heath bound by the aquatic playgrounds of Pittwater, Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River and its tributaries.
