The RAN Heritage Centre is located within the Public Access Area on the northern end of Garden Island. It is within two National Estate listed buildings, the Gun Mounting Workshop (1922) and the Boatshed (1890). The Public Access Area is itself of heritage significance and includes historic gardens, heritage locations and has panoramic views of Sydney Harbour.


Garden Island: Where To Go / Sightseeing

Visitors can access the RAN Heritage Centre by Sydney Ferry using the Circular Quay to Watson's Bay route. The Ferry will stop at the Garden Island Ferry Wharf only during RAN Heritage Centre opening hours. All visitors using the ferry service MUST depart the RAN Heritage Centre by the last scheduled ferry of the day.

The RAN Heritage Centre displays items of the Naval Heritage Collection and contains over 250 000 individual items from the more than 100 years of the Navy's history.
