Tarragindi
Tarragindi is an inner Brisbane southern suburb flanking the western side of the South-East Expressway which links the Queensland capital and the Gold Coast. Tarragindi also borders the large Toohey Forest Park and open bushland which stretches between Mt Gravatt and Toohey Mountain at Tarragindi - a natural green belt in which the twin Griffith University campuses of Nathan and Mt Gravatt are set. The forest teems with wild-life, but visitors are advised not to challenge the confusing network of tracks without first exploring the area under the guidance of volunteers from the Tooheny Forest Protection Society. The guided tours leave from the forest car park on Toohey Road at 7am every Sunday. The large Garden City shopping complex at Mt Gravatt is also close by. The expressway offers easy access to the major tourist attractions within inner-Brisbane and the Moreton Bay islands and, of course, to the theme parks, the nightclubs, magnificent surf beaches and rainforest hinterland of the Gold Coast.
