Morley

The leafy suburbs of Noranda and Morley, about 6km north of Perth's CBD, are residential precincts distinguished by solid, well-established houses in generally carefully-tended gardens. One of their greatest assets is that these suburbs are within a stone's throw of the huge Whiteman Park - hundreds of acres of bushland and lakes just ripe for the family picnic or barbecue - and the gorgeous Swan Valley where the Swan River winds casually among the vineyards. The region also hosts a couple of big shopping centres in Noranda Palms and Morley Galleria - one of the biggest in the state - and Caversham Wildlife Park and Zoo is also nearby at West Swan in the Swan Valley. The zoo's breeding program is officially recognised and the park has bred its own wombats, Tasmanian devils and koalas, to name a few. It has also entered into a grass owl breeding program with Perth Zoo, and is the only park in WA to have bred cassowaries - a significant achievement for a privately-owned park.
