Nedlands

One of Perth's most prestigious and salubrious suburbs, Nedlands is just six kilometres or so south of Perth's CBD, running down to the northern shore of the Swan River. On Nedland's western boundaries are the University of Western Australia and, a littler further along, beautiful Kings Park, which overlooks Perth's CBD, the broadest reaches of the river and several of the city's inner southern suburbs. This is a great park in world terms and certainly one of the best positioned to give visitors unbeatable, close-up views of this fabulous city. There's a fine golf course at Nedlands that nestles among some delightful, solid and well-established homes set in fine gardens, and, down by the river, there's a broad, green reserve that provides all the facilities and comfortable access you'll need to enjoy one of the most attractive parts of the Swan, where the water is always sparkling with sail and hull. Of course, it's a short drive into the centre of Perth from Nedlands, and Fremantle – one of the world's most interesting port cities - is just down the road, too.
