Lidcombe

The suburb of Lidcombe has undergone some dramatic changes over recent years as the population surge westwards in to the foothills of the Blue Mountains has redrawn Sydney"s geographic and demographic boundaries.

The population shift has had the effect of transforming Lidcombe into an inner Sydney suburb which is being increasingly targeted by younger home owners and investors.

For many years, Lidcombe shared a style and tradition with neighbouring Homebush, but the identities of both suburbs were irrevocably changed when Homebush first became the site for the Bicentennial Park in 1988 and later for the billion dollar development that transformed it into the Olympic village and location for the main stadia in the 2000 Games.
