Doncaster

Doncaster is at the centre of the Manningham City Council area in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Manningham City is part of the Valley of the Arts, a loose knit region bound by 'the fine tradition of living the arts and the art of living'.

Artists' trails, modern, traditional and indigenous art galleries, pottery studios, museums and historic sites link past and present in a wide array of things to see and do.

Combine all this with major shopping centres, state parks flanking the Yarra River, fine restaurants and wineries and the Valley of the Arts promises an enriching and irresistible experience, all within 30 minutes of the centre of Melbourne which can be accessed by train and arterial roads.

Jewel in the Manningham crown is Currawong Bush Park - a unique remnant bushland bordering Mullum Mullum Creek in East Doncaster. Just 25km from the Melbourne CBD, the park presents a rare opportunity to explore the cultural and natural heritage in the metropolitan area.

The park had its genesis in the early 1970s when the council bought 25ha of bushland to conserve as a flora and fauna reserve and education centre. Subsequent land acquisitions have seen the park to grow to more than 45ha.
