Dingee
Located in the centre of the Loddon tourism region, Dingee is surrounded by the open wheat fields, grazing dairy herds and sturdy homesteads that typify this irrigation area. The town is about 40km north of Bendigo.
Dingee is a warm, open town with a pleasant park, fully equipped with BBQ facilities, and a hotel that claims to prepare some of the best meals in the district.
The regional attractions include Loddon Weir at Fernihurst, Mt Hope Flora and Fauna Reserve and Terrick Terrick National Park.
Victoria"s newest park, Terrick conserves 2500ha between Pyramid Hill and Mitiamo, and protects valuable pockets of native vegetation and wildlife.
The park contains more than 200 different native plants include buloke, rock cornea, snowy mint, swan greenhood, woolly cloak fern, dwarf bluebush and rye beetle grass, while the woodlands are dominated by white cypress and yellow and grey box.
The park supports more than 100 species of birds, black wallaby, fat-tailed dunnart and tree goanna. The granite outcrops on Mt Terrick itself offer sweeping views of the countryside.
