Croydon

The inner-western suburb of Croydon lies in the City of Charles Sturt, just a few kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. Sturt was only created in 1997 with the merger of the Hindmarsh, Woodville, Henley and Grange municipalities, but it already boasts the label "The Switched on City", just 10 minutes from all the Adelaide action.

Sturt extends west from the Adelaide CBD to the sea and its 13km coastline embraces two jetties and the metropolitan area's remaining natural sand dunes.

It is bound by the River Torrens and West Beach to the south and Grand Junction and Torrens Road to the north and is within minutes of both Adelaide International Airport and the Port of Adelaide, which is one of Australia's most significant heritage precincts.

Sturt offers a wide and diverse range of tourist options and is richly endowed with such major sporting arenas as Football Park, Hindmarsh Stadium, the Clipsal Powerhouse and Grange, Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga golf courses.
