Glynde

Payneham and Glynde are two of the Adelaide eastern suburbs flanking the city's unique Linear Park which follows the course of the River Torrens.

The recreational green belt stretches from Windsor Gardens to link up with the parkland moat that encircles the Festival City. Tracks through the park attract hordes of walkers and cyclists, while family groups enjoy the strategically placed picnic facilities.

The longest guided busway system in the world, the O-Bahn, also skirts the river and the bush strip. The O-Bahn links Adelaide with Payneham and the major shopping centre at Tea Tree Plaza.

Glynde is a suburb in the amalgamated City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters, which covers 15sqkm to the immediate north-east of Adelaide City.

It has always been a vibrant, cosmopolitan corner of metropolitan Adelaide and its notable citizens have included poet C.J. Dennis, women"s liberationist Helen Catherine Spence and former premier, social reformer and living fashion statement, Don Dunstan.
